This is Canada’s first powered boat. It cost 75 dollars Canadian (plus the engine), most commonly used for traveling the St.Lawrence river from home to market, made of soft cedar, they most commonly ended up at the bottom of the river from saturation.
The outer shell was covered in fiberglass in 1995 to protect the wood from damage and avoid saturation…
This one made its way out west 45 years ago, and was stored indoors for most of its life. Other than a couple of fishing expeditions per year in Sylvan Lake, Alberta (between 1995 and 2005) this boat has been indoors protected from the elements….
The history of the Peterborough canoe company can be viewed here at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peterborough_Canoe_Company and it is believed that this is the very same boat make and model of canoe that was given to Queen Elizabeth, by the Peterborough Canoe Company, in 1948, when she was still a princess.
The sale of the Falcon also includes a single axle, 1990 trailer in great shape.
