How to create a piece of boat hardware from a photograph!
In this video, Mike Windsor of Windsor Boat Works Ltd, explains how he fabricated a silicon bronze vent for his historic launch “Bimbi”, starting with nothing but a photograph!
Using two computer programs, a CNC Router and a 3D printer, Mike created a wooden and plastic mold pattern that was sent to a foundry to produce a sand casted part, which will soon be chrome plated.
In his usual modest way, Mike explains the process below.
